Mission Prayer
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help,
or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto you, 0 Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.
What is a Mission?
Your Parish is about to experience a
Parish Mission.
This is a special event and time of Grace in the life of your Parish.
A Mission happens only once every few years. It is a great opportunity to slow down and look at your life. It is also a time to examine your relationship with God and those around you.
A Mission is a reminder of the love God has for each one of us and for our world. It is also an invitation to work more closely with God and your local Parish.
As well as Masses and the Mission Services, there is plenty of opportunity to see one of the
Mission Priests for Confession. If it's been a long time since your last confession, then don't worry—they're experienced in helping you
come back to the Sacraments.
Why Bother?
A Mission is for all Catholics who want to deepen their faith and for those searching for meaning in life. It is also for all Christians who would like to come along and for all those
who want to find out more
about Jesus Christ
You're invited!
There are many reasons why people
stop going to Church or sometimes people just get out of the habit of going; perhaps they were wary during Covid; maybe they had an
argument with a priest. Whatever the reason, this Mission will give you the chance to do something about your faith in God. Who knows,
you might decide to come to all of the Mission Services.
You are welcome to come along for
an informal chat with one of the Mission priests. The sacrament of Confession is available after all
Masses and services throughout the week. If you'd like your house
blessed by one of the Fathers, or need to receive a sick visit, then let us know, and we'd be happy to come along.
This Mission is an opportunity for you to ask questions, to look at your relationship with God or share your hopes with us. Come along
and try it — You're invited!
Your presence can and will make all the difference!
Who are We?
Your Parish Mission is being led by the Mission Team. The Fathers live and work in different parts of the country.
Fr. Peter Morris is a Scottish Redemptorist priest who has preached missions and given retreats all over the country since his ordination in 2015. More recently, from 2020 onwards, he has been ministering in the Redemptorist parish in London.
Fr. Royston Price is a Redemptorist Missionary who was ordained in 2020. He has mostly worked in Birmingham and London and preaches missions all over the country. He is the Vocations Director for the order, and has just taken on the role of coordinating the Parish
Mission work that the Redemptorists undertake.
It is through the invitation of your Parish Priests that we are here to celebrate this Mission with
you.
You will make all the difference to our Mission!
